At Regeneration, we will do everything we can for our guests who are in medical distress or require therapeutic or preventive care. We have weekly medical professionals attending to provide a variety of services to support and attend to the complex issues of people living in poverty.
In 2018, as a result of our partnership with Peel Outreach, Regeneration now have access to a nurse practitioner who visits our centre once a week to support and attend to our guests. In addition, every Wednesday we are visited by an ongoing Hepatitis C support team who attend with our guests to diagnose and treat this condition.
If at any time our guests are suffering from medical distress, we will support them as needed. Our centre acts as a relational and transitional care facility – which means we work with every one of our guests, at their discretion, to find them the help they need. Whether it’s emergency room care to finding a doctor, to providing medical resources and counselling, we do everything we can to ensure the health of our guests.
Aches and pains can quickly creep up, especially in the absence of a warm, comfortable bed.
We have a licensed chiropractor that visits our centre and attends our guests every Friday during our breakfast hours of 7AM – 9:30AM. Appointments are first come, first served, and a sign up sheet is available at the centre.
We distribute personal care kits to our guests every other month, stocked with the essentials like sunscreen, deodorant, and razors. These kits help our guests hold on to a sense of dignity while protecting their health.
