The Rick Robson Memorial Golf Tournament celebrates and honours the legacy of a great man who left us far too soon. Rick lived a life of kindness and generosity, focused on giving as much of himself as he could to the people and causes he loved most. We know that Regeneration’s mission was close to his heart. Thank you for helping us remember and celebrate his life, while carrying on the spirit of love and support that he was so dedicated to.
Regeneration is a community that serves the homeless, those at risk of homelessness, and those living in poverty. While providing basic needs, we also love and care for people in an emotionally and spiritually supportive environment centred on dignity and respect.
Working in partnership with Regional governments, local churches, businesses, schools and volunteers, Regeneration daily meets the practical needs of each guest who visits. Our proximity to our guests allows us to assess the needs of people and to respond in a sensitive and practical way. Sometimes this allows us to “stand in the gap” to ensure that people can access needed resources.
Most recently we have addressed a need by developing a space that a growing number of medical professionals can use to meet with our guests, especially those who face obstacles in receiving proper healthcare. We have also worked at increasing our capability in connecting our guests with resources like replacing lost or destroyed birth certificates, pursuing rehabilitation programs or other key social services. With our relationships in the Peel Region and beyond, we recognized an opportunity to partner with food distributors, retailers and restaurants as we rescue food that would otherwise be disposed of, and instead make it accessible for people who would otherwise have no food, thus reducing waste and helping those in need.
