Most mornings, Chef Carol gets to the kitchen before sunrise. By the time the doors open, they’ve been cooking for hours, and not just at Thanksgiving. Hundreds of meals leave our kitchen every week, each one made with the same care, so that everyone who walks in finds a plate made just for them.
At Thanksgiving, what changes is the room. The tables are set, the plates come piled higher, and a day that can be one of the loneliest of the year becomes a full house with a seat for everyone. The turkey may be seasonal, but the love isn’t, and it’s that ordinary, everyday effort that turns a meal into belonging.
